Sustaining a Healthy Workforce

The Athens Area Chamber Coffee & Conversations series provides a space for Chamber members to network and discuss issues important to our businesses and community. The topic of our inaugural Coffee & Conversations will be Sustaining a Healthy Workforce. 

Join us on Wednesday, April 19th at the Innovation Center as we network and hear from representatives from Athens County OhioMeansJobs, Project RISE (of AMESC), and ACRE (Amesville Community Resources for Entrepreneurs) as they discuss the ways local businesses can benefit by contributing to efforts to sustain a healthy, well-trained workforce.

The Athens Area Chamber is so excited to show off our new programming with the community that our inaugural Coffee & Conversations event will be free and open to the public to attend. Please note that though we encourage participants to register ahead of time, you are still welcome to stop in on the day of the event even if you didn’t register beforehand.

Panel Discussion: Sustaining a Healthy Workforce

The health of our future economy is reliant on establishing a strong working relationship between local businesses, community shareholders, and area educational services and providers. The Athens area already has many agencies and organizations working to strengthen the region’s economic sustainability by contributing to a healthy, growing, and well-trained workforce. In this morning’s discussion, we will hear from Shawn Stover, Reentry Program Coordinator at Athens County OhioMeansJobs, as he touches on aspects of job training, placement, and local infrastructure; Gary Gooseman, owner of ACRE, as he explores how self-employed business owners can contribute to a healthy economic system; and Jennifer L’Heureux, Career Coach at Nelsonville-York SD and Project RISE, as she discusses how local businesses can help support area youth as they transition into adulthood.
